Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
Although this topic is now open I doubt anyone will talk about it... all the races would be boring because (even Jase said it) it is really an extra test day.
Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
Yeah, and so will the fate of the whole event!

Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
It would be nice for Holden to win this round. We are in a drought.

Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
...in Adelaide like conditions. Holden are better in the 40 degree heat. Forecast: 38 today, 39 tomorrow, 30 on Saturday, 36 on Sunday...
Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
Triple 8 Racing have just topped out the first practice chart. McConville was the fastest Holden, with reigning champ Tander in 6th. Skaifey was 5th. These are obviously unofficial and don't count. But it could determine which manufacturer gets the better half of the grid.

Jamie Whincup 1:59.8596
Craig Lowndes 2:00.4887
Cameron McConville 2:00.8735

Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
Such great competition to advertise our love of all things V8 to the rest of the world!!!
Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
Once again a great race by Tander. I was laughing like hell hwne I saw Richo and Lowndsey spin each other out. That gave a chance Skaifey to recover from his shootout lap. If only this was a championship round...

Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
Skaife's shootout lap was s**t, I got to watch it at Jb hi-fi at Epping
Plaza and did commentary... Anyway I hated the Holden and Ford format, although I never saw the race. And what is it with FPR and 888 coming together at every second race meeting?

Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
If points were offered at the GP, Tander would have been 60pts off Whincup, about 3rd and HRT all together would have been close, even ahead of TERE. I am really spewing. Why can't HRT be that good when there are points up for grabs?

Re: Melbourne GP - Non-championship round
Maybe its just in the Melbourne water that supplies HRT? (was bored so I had to say something )
