Massa put in a very strong lap to secure Pole in tomorrows Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. The stunning lap by Massa saw him take pole by a margin of nearly half a second over his Finnish team mate. McLaren occupy row 2 of the grid, but it is Kovalainen not Hamilton in P3. At times it appeared Hamilton was not going to make it onto row 2 but a decent final lap helped him secure his position. It was a tough day for the Williams team with Rosberg ending up in 16th and his team mate securing 18th. Nakajima will have to start last however due to a penalty and being dropped down 10 places. The Williams Technical Director Sam Michaels had this to say about their performance: "This morning we had a bad run on Nico’s car in practice with a hydraulic leak which cost us some set-up time, but even so it would be difficult to see how we could have made it into the top ten and our qualifying performance needs improvement.
