TeamVodafone will make Christmas a bit brighter for those less fortunate with the leading Brisbane-based V8 Supercar team donating more than 300 items to the Salvation Army for their annual Christmas appeal.

Representatives from the Salvation Army visited the Teams Bowen Hills headquarters earlier this week to collect the men's, ladies and children's clothing in time for Christmas next week.

Runner-up in the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship, Jamie Whincup said TeamVodafone were pleased to be able to assist the struggling members of the community this Christmas.

"It is a harsh reality that this Christmas is not going to be so bright for some members of the community," Whincup said. "It is great to know that the merchandise will be going to those who need it most and I hope that it can help to put a smile on their faces when they wake up on Christmas morning."

Seth Holsworth from the Salvation Army welcomed the donation by TeamVodafone and said that there is still time for individuals too help out this Christmas.

"It is great to have an organization such as TeamVodafone assist our annual Christmas appeal and I am sure the kind donations of clothing are going to be appreciated," Holsworth said.
