Cleaning the disc isn't always the solution. It could be either the discs are that scratched, badly damaged or worn from use.

discs get worn from use?! I find that a bit hard to believe, my Xbox consoles and controllers have stuffed up and not working at all, where as the discs are working as good as new

Don't forget, it's on a DS. Track sizes vary from console. (In terms of hand held or not)

Not being jealous, but the type of console can have an effect on the results. Worst comes to worst, we might have to split it into console types.
